Episode #42: As a Woman in Business: What I Know Now That I Wish I Knew Then
Wednesday Mar 23, 2022
Wednesday Mar 23, 2022
When Rae started her career in business in the early 80s, fresh out of college, she often says she was kickin’ butts, and takin’ names! She simply states from her perspective, that’s how women got ahead in those days and that quite honestly it was expected of men to be hard-nosed, facts-over-feelings, get-it-done no-matter-what. If a woman took that approach, she was considered overbearing. That’s just the way it was. Rae got it done; she advanced, and she had the fancy title, but at what expense? Join Rae & Bryana in this special episode focused on women as they discuss lessons learned and how even yesterday has something to teach us.

Episode #38: Performance Management, Does it Feel Like Doing Your Taxes?
Wednesday Feb 09, 2022
Wednesday Feb 09, 2022
Performance appraisals often feel like doing your taxes. They come around once (or even twice) a year, the emphasis is on completing the forms, and must be completed on time by a certain due date. Often what is lacking is meaningful feedback about someone’s performance on the job, and their future developmental needs. Join Dewey, Rae, and Bryana as they describe both the formal approach to performance management, the written appraisal, and the informal role that coaching can play to improve performance and increase employee engagement.

Episode #37: Letting Go of Toxic Things
Wednesday Feb 02, 2022
Wednesday Feb 02, 2022
How often have you ever let who you truly are be defined by the things you have; the car you drive, the clothes you wear, the neighborhood you live in, even the people you associate with? When you are young and dependent on others, you have little choice in the matter. By the time you are old enough to make your own decisions, pay your own bills, you might believe this really IS who you are and become accustomed to whatever is in front of you – good or otherwise. As we turn the page on a new year, maybe it’s time to re-evaluate that perspective and really take inventory of the things that are serving you because you aren’t limited by who you think you are but by who you think you are not. Join Dewey, Rae, and Bryana as they discuss the hard reality of taking life inventory, raising your awareness, and saying goodbye to the toxic things in our lives so you can move forward.

Episode #25: Burnout and Bounce Back
Wednesday Oct 20, 2021
Wednesday Oct 20, 2021
How do we do more with less? This is a question we’ve been asked by some of the best and brightest. Our response is, ‘That’s a stupid question.” Here’s why: when production expectations exceed capacity to produce the net gain is zero. It’s a common assumption that the more hours people work, the more productive they are, therefore the more profitable the organization will be. Unfortunately, that is just not true. Listen in as the MTI team talks about burnout and how to come back from it.
