Episode #22: Knock, knock. Who‘s There? Imposter Syndrome

Distinguished degrees hanging on the wall, shiny medals draped over the pictures that captured the moment, numerous awards lining the shelves, all legitimately achieved and certainly a visual sign of one’s success. Yet internally, some individuals have a hard time believing that this success is deserved. We know this as Impostor Syndrome.

It can be challenging to make the transition from college student to working professional. The freedom you experience from scheduling classes or leisure time with friends becomes filled with deadlines, meetings, and schedules. But the workplace can be fun too! As Fall semesters are underway at colleges across the globe, the biggest lesson students can learn is: now is the perfect time to prepare for the transition after graduation. Episode #20: Hold That Elevator!

It takes a little over three minutes to reach the top floor of the tallest building in the world but you only get 30 seconds to give your elevator speech. Ever wonder why it’s called that? Because it should be possible to pitch an idea or deliver impressive information about yourself in the time span of an elevator ride, or approximately 30 seconds to three minutes. What’s more important is what goes into that pitch or summary – usually a memorable nugget regarding yourself or the product, service or idea you’re trying to pitch should you find yourself in an elevator with a prominent figure. Episode #18: Engaged or Not Engaged?

According to Gallup’s State of the Global Workplace: 2021 Report an unfortunate and staggering 51 - 69% of employees are disengaged or actively disengaged. Disengagement costs companies millions in lost productivity. When companies have to replace disengaged workers, it can cost even more; one-half to two times the employee's annual salary. Either way, disengaged workers cost you!  Listen as the MTI team talks about what the state of engagement is in the workplace and how you can impact that as a leader.
