Wednesday Oct 27, 2021
Wednesday Oct 27, 2021
Believe it or not, we learned the art of negotiation at a very young age. How many times did you have to say, “Mom, Mom, Mom, Mom, Mom, Mom…” before she’d finally turn and watch you do something totally unspectacular? That was a negotiation; you got her to look and she got you to stop annoyingly call her name. Hopefully you've moved beyond that point. Listen in as the MTI team discuss tips for more effective approaches to negotiation.

Episode #25: Burnout and Bounce Back
Wednesday Oct 20, 2021
Wednesday Oct 20, 2021
How do we do more with less? This is a question we’ve been asked by some of the best and brightest. Our response is, ‘That’s a stupid question.” Here’s why: when production expectations exceed capacity to produce the net gain is zero. It’s a common assumption that the more hours people work, the more productive they are, therefore the more profitable the organization will be. Unfortunately, that is just not true. Listen in as the MTI team talks about burnout and how to come back from it.

Episode #20: Hold That Elevator!
Wednesday Sep 15, 2021
Wednesday Sep 15, 2021
It takes a little over three minutes to reach the top floor of the tallest building in the world but you only get 30 seconds to give your elevator speech. Ever wonder why it’s called that? Because it should be possible to pitch an idea or deliver impressive information about yourself in the time span of an elevator ride, or approximately 30 seconds to three minutes. What’s more important is what goes into that pitch or summary – usually a memorable nugget regarding yourself or the product, service or idea you’re trying to pitch should you find yourself in an elevator with a prominent figure. Listen in as MTI discusses the importance of elevator pitches and what needs to go into the crafting of an effectively short, dynamic, and memorable speech.

If there’s anything that life and longevity teaches us it’s that to survive you must adapt and that means change. It’s no different in business. If a business is to survive, it must change and that means innovate, find new ways to present its products and services, giving its customers what they need how they need it where they need it when they need it. Creativity and innovation are knowledge-based skills that are born when employees use collaboration to come up with new ways to solve problems that might not even exist yet. Join the MTI teams as they talk about how leaders can cultivate creativity and innovation in the workplace.
