Episode #98: Keeping Employees Engaged Part 2
Wednesday Aug 02, 2023
Wednesday Aug 02, 2023
What would you have time for at the office if nearly 30% of your tasks were automated and didn’t require your attention? According to McKinsey & Company that dream is not too far from a reality. They suggest this is how it could be in about 60% of jobs using artificial intelligence (AI). By allowing AI to complete these menial tasks efficiently, theoretically employees are freed up to work on things like relationships and overall workplace culture. However, nearly half of U.S. adults are still on the fence saying the overall increase in use of AI computer programs in daily life makes them feel equally concerned and excited. In this second of three parts series, Dewey, Rae, and Bryana discuss AI, the effects it could have on our workplaces, and the possible impact on employee engagement.

Wednesday Jul 26, 2023
Wednesday Jul 26, 2023
Did you know that low employee engagement costs the global economy roughly $8.8 trillion, according to Gallup? They say that’s 9% of global gross domestic product – enough to make the difference between success and failure for humanity. We know employee engagement is just as vital to individual business success too. It’s a fact that employee engagement improves customer satisfaction, profitability, productivity, and reduces employee turnover. And it starts right away! In this new series, Dewey, Rae, and Bryana break down the Gallup 2023 State of the Global Workplace Report as it specifically relates to engagement and they discuss reasons engagement may be continuing to drop in the region while providing suggestions on how to start making some changes.

Episode #95: Teamwork Makes the Dream Work Part 3
Wednesday Jul 12, 2023
Wednesday Jul 12, 2023
In school it was probably easy enough to look around the lunchroom and spot the cliques. Little did we realize we’d also have them in our workplace. CareerBuilder found 43% of employees say their office is populated by cliques. Although cliques are nothing more than a group of people with strong bonds who spend a lot of time together, they can become problematic when the exclusion of others creates rifts in teamwork. In this third episode of the series, Dewey, Rae, and Bryana discuss strategies for breaking up disruptive cliques and creating an inclusive environment for your team.

As a leader, have you noticed behavioral patterns with your team? Does it seem like they’re stuck in conflict “all the time,” or is work getting done, but mediocrely? What you may be experiencing is a team stuck in one particular stage of team development. In this second part of the Teamwork Makes the Dream Work series, Dewey, Rae, and Bryana discuss psychologist Dr. Bruce Tuckman’s Stages of Team Development and strategies for moving the team fluidly through each.

Episode #93: Teamwork Makes the Dream Work Part 1
Wednesday Jun 28, 2023
Wednesday Jun 28, 2023
Over two decades old, author John C. Maxwell’s famous quote, “teamwork makes the dream work,” remains just as relevant as ever before. Teamwork offers a larger pool of resources which can produce better solutions and improve efficiency and output. It can foster a feeling of belonging and reduce stress simply by having strong bonds with teammates. The reality is, however, that not all teams have maximized their potential as a high-performing team. As with anything worth having, creating a high-performing team takes work and attention. In this first episode of a new series, Dewey, Rae, and Bryana provide a vision for what a high-performing team looks like by identifying productive and unproductive behaviors, and helping leaders determine where to start.
